Vegans and vegetarians should look into omega 3 rich foods to supply this essential nutrient. There are very few plant foods that supply a decent amount. Sacha inchi now joins purslane, chia seeds, flaxseed, and microalgae as vegan omega 3 superfoods and another way to sneak more healthy essential fats into your life. The studies are thin this early on, but sacha inchi is showing promise in many areas.

1. Cholesterol – Sacha inchi lowers LDL and raises HDL cholesterol. Cholesterol levels may not be the biggest marker for cardiovascular problems we once thought them to be, but they are still a concern and can reflect dietary problems and genetic dispositions toward some diseases.

2. Well Being – These seeds contain a good amount of tryptophan, a precursor for serotonin. Why is Sachi the king of nuts?

Originating from South America, highly appreciated for nutrition, Sachi is expected to give an economic value of up to VND 350 million / ha when planted in Vietnam.

Sachi (also known as Sacha inchi, Peanut Inca or Inca Inchi) is a castor plant native to South America. The original land of this plant is located in the Amazon forest of 19 species, distributed from Bolivia to Mexico, most popular in the Amazon regions of Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. In which, 12 species are distributed mainly in South and Central America, the remaining 7 species are distributed in other regions of the world.

In fact, this is the oldest plant on Earth that still exists as it is today, after more than 200 million years. Sachi seeds have a very high nutritional content and are superior to many other oilseeds, including omega, vitamin C and E.

Sachi in Vietnam is being piloted in 4 provinces, including Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Son La and Dak Lak.

Sachi is suitable for growing at temperatures of 7-48 degrees Celsius, growing and developing well at 10-36 degrees C. Plants are resistant to hoarfrost

After 3-5 months of planting, they will flower and can start harvesting from month 6 to 8. In the first year, the yield can reach 1 ton of seed / ha, the second year will reach 3 tons of grain / ha, from the 3rd year onwards it is 5-7 tons / ha. With a total initial investment of about VND 100-150 million, each hectare of Sachi tree can give an economic value of up to VND 350 million.

Sachi oil can be used immediately after manual pressing (as a nutritional supplement) without going through any other processing stages, the same way Peruvian people have used them for hundreds of years.

Sachi oil contains about 48% omega 3, 35% omega 6 and 9% omega 9. Omega 3 in 1ml Sachi is 17 times higher in salmon oil and 49 times higher than olive oil, making Sachi dubbed " human superfood "
